The Ukrainian pop-star Irina Bilik at Bartolomeo.

She is a symbolic person, a part of the history and culture of contemporary Ukraine. Her name is associated with new wave in Ukrainian music in Sevastopol and Lugansk, Lvov and Rovno, Kiev and Moskow. There isn’t pompous patriotism in her art work. Instead there’s what we call an Ukrainian soul which is able to move anyone who touch it. She is recognised and loved. She’s out of various, often arbitrary rates. Everyone knows: even not being mentioned, she is the best. The audience itself can’t explain her phenomenon. She becomes truly loved after a live performance. Nobody can stay indifferent, feeling the force of attraction, energy and charm she radiates. She is Irina Bilik, and that is she.

The 14th of July Irina Bilik visited Bartolomeo. She arrived to Dnepropetrovsk with her “Love is a Poison”. The club visitors were really enjoyed by the star’s performance. Irina was nice, touching and a little bit sentimental as always. Dmitry Kolyadenko’s ballet has impressed the public, dancing at the festival square. The audience didn’t want to let her go, wishing to hear familiar and favourite songs again and again. People eagerly joined Irina in singing, and the most devoted fans received signatures, generously given out. No one wanted to live, but the pleasant summer evening was coming to the conclusion. After the end of Irina’s performance the lyrical atmosphere, enveloped the festival square, gave place to club music.

Undoubtedly the evening was a real success.
